Hayley Barrett, a seasoned commercial diver hailing from Canada, is set to further enhance her qualifications by undergoing the CSWIP 3.1U renewal exam and pursuing the CSWIP 3.2U certification from TWI SEA. With over seven years of diverse diving experience, Barrett's dedication to professional growth underscores her commitment to excellence in the field.
Barrett's journey into commercial diving began as a passion cultivated during her years of recreational scuba diving while attending St. Bonaventure's College in St. John's, Newfoundland, Canada. Her transition to commercial diving took shape during her tenure at Pro-Dive Marine Services, where she recognised the value of the CSWIP 3.1U NDT underwater inspection certification. This realisation led her to pursue training with TWI in the United Kingdom, where she successfully attained her initial certification.
"I am excited to embark on this next phase of my professional development. The opportunity to renew my CSWIP 3.1U certification and acquire the CSWIP 3.2U qualification will further equip me to pursue offshore projects and contribute to the industry's standards of excellence."
Throughout her career, Barrett has demonstrated versatility and expertise across various diving tasks, ranging from underwater inspection and construction to ship husbandry and wharf work. Her dedication to excellence and commitment to safety have earned her respect within the industry.
"I have always believed that gender should not determine one's suitability for a role," Barrett emphasized. "My experiences in Canada and Australia have reinforced my conviction that competence and capability are the true measures of success in this field."
Barrett's decision to pursue certification renewal and further accreditation reflects her proactive approach to professional development and her commitment to advancing her skills to meet industry demands. With her partner, Daniel, also pursuing diving courses, the duo plans to explore opportunities in Asia's offshore sector following the completion of their certifications.
"TWI has been instrumental in my journey thus far, and I would wholeheartedly recommend their programs to aspiring divers. I look forward to leveraging my enhanced qualifications to contribute meaningfully to offshore projects and uphold the highest standards of safety and professionalism."
As Barrett embarks on this next chapter of her career, she serves as an inspiration to aspiring divers and underscores the importance of continuous learning and growth in the dynamic field of commercial diving.
