TWI South East Asia proudly announces its recent feature on the Radio Televisyen Malaysia (RTM) channel, showcasing our role in empowering Asnaf youth in Malaysia. Partnering with Majlis Agama Islam dan Adat Istiadat Perlis (MAIPS) dan Akademi Transformasi Asnaf MAIPS Sdn. Bhd (ATAM), we’ve sponsored 1,030 Asnaf youth since 2019, providing specialized Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) programs.
The term "Asnaf" refers to eligible recipients of Zakat, an Islamic obligation of giving alms to the needy. In the context of this initiative, Asnaf youth are those who qualify for Zakat assistance due to their socio-economic circumstances.

“MAIPS allocated RM5 million yearly per student for comprehensive training lasting 4 to 6 months. This substantial investment underscores the commitment to uplift Asnaf youth by equipping them with valuable skills and knowledge to thrive in the workforce. Through our collaboration, we aim to empower these individuals to break the cycle of poverty and build a brighter future for themselves and their families”
The training programs, conducted at 24 skills training centres nationwide, cover a wide range of fields, with a particular focus on industries with high demand for skilled workers. These include Welding Inspection, Non-Destructive Testing (NDT), Painting and Coating Inspection, Plant Inspection, Welding Procedures, and Occupational Health and Safety. By providing access to quality education and practical skills training, we empower Asnaf youth to pursue meaningful careers and contribute positively to society.
At a recent briefing program held at the MAIPS lecture hall, En. Muhammad Nazim emphasized the importance of skill development for youth, highlighting the transformative impact of education on their lives. He emphasized the need to provide opportunities for career advancement and economic empowerment, emphasizing the role of education in breaking the cycle of poverty and creating pathway to success.
