We recently welcomed Up-Skill project partners, Mälardalen Industrial Technology Center (MITC) to our headquarters near Cambridge for a knowledge-sharing visit.
MITC CEO, Anna Bird and Senior Project Coordinator Jens von Axelson met up with a number of TWI staff, including Associate Director Warren Bath, Principal Innovation Specialist Kate Kell, Group Operations Manager Adrian Duncan, and Principal Project Leader Steven Baines, among others.
During the visit, the visitors were able to look around TWI’s facilities and were given two presentations from our experts.
TWI has been working alongside Sweden’s MITC as part of the Up-Skill project, which seeks to develop a better understanding of how industry and manufacturing can benefit from integrating human employees with machine skills in a collaborative environment. Such collaborative working would use capabilities including big data, real time process data, the Internet of Things, automation, machine learning and artificial intelligence, amongst others alongside human skills to gain the greatest benefit from both people and technology.
It was good to have the opportunity to discuss ideas and share information with MITC during their visit.
