TWI has been working as part of the 5G-ERA (5G Enhanced Robot Autonomy) project, which seeks to provide an experimentation facility for the testing and qualification of applications for third-party developers.
This work, where TWI is one of 13 consortium partners, takes advantage of the improved connectivity offered by 5G networks, with a focus on robotic autonomy.
Such autonomy offers a range of benefits in the automated mobility, healthcare and Industry 4.0 sectors.
You can keep up-to-date with the latest happenings on the project by connecting to a range of dissemination activities, including a project newsletter, social media accounts, and a YouTube channel:
As an example of this work, you can also see a video, below, showing TWI experts demonstrating the transformative potential of integrating 5G into a robotic brazing cell:
This project has received funding from the European Union's Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation programme under grant agreement No. 101016681.
