TWI has been expanding and improving our plastic welding training offering, including an expansion of our laboratory facilities at TWI Middlesbrough and TWI’s Training Centre in Shah Alam, Malaysia.
Our plastic welding courses can currently be offered at your premises, using the latest state-of-the-art equipment at our dedicated Middlesbrough facility and at our plastic pipe welding facility in Malaysia. However, this provision is due to be extended even further, with our UK-based team planning a series of ‘train-the-trainer’ programmes so that courses can be rolled out at our global sites, adding a more comprehensive range of non-metallic prospects to their portfolio.
Our trainers have significant training knowledge and ‘on-the-job’ experience in industry, delivering training for most material types and process applications. The training on offer includes:
- Hot gas and extrusion welding for sheet fabrication (chemical storage, fume cupboards, etc)
- Welding of membranes (attenuation tanks, landfill sites, ponds, lagoons, anaerobic digesters, etc)
- Welding of plastic pipes (widely used for water, gas, chemical transportation, and more)
TWI is also the only organisation in the world offering plastics weld inspection training and certification, both for existing plastic welders and CSWIP certified welding inspectors.
Our courses can be tailored to meet the individual needs of your company as required, with all courses able to lead to CSWIP certification in accordance with BS EN 13067 (Plastics Welding Personnel - Qualification of Welders - Thermoplastics Welded Assemblies), ensuring that trainees have the qualification to back up their learning.
However, our support doesn’t end when your course does, as our dedicated and focused team will be with you every step of the way from your first enquiries, through course delivery and on to follow-on support.
