The last months of 2023 saw TWI forging stronger links with our Industrial Members in China. TWI CEO, Aamir Khalid, and Associate Director of Operations, Warren Bath visited China in October to explore further opportunities with our Industrial Members. During the visit, they presented to 750 attendees on our services, emphasising the value of Professional and Industrial Membership.
Jiangsu Industrial Technology Research Institute (JITRI), one of TWI’s Industrial Members, kindly arranged tours of their institute’s facilities and a number of their partners’ laboratories in the Yangtze Delta region. These visits provided an insight into the strong innovation ecosystem present in both Nanjing and Suzhou. The visit helped to strengthen relationships with our Industrial Membership community in China following the recent years of travel restrictions.
In November, TWI technical experts returned to China to host an exciting two-day technology conference where hundreds of staff from our Industrial Member companies attended. This provided a platform to demonstrate technology offerings that can be provided within the accepted export control restrictions. It also further increased awareness of TWI’s training and certification provision in China, which has been on a growth trajectory for a number of years.
After hosting JITRI at The Welding Institute’s 100th year anniversary in the UK in December, Warren Bath will be returning to China this month to celebrate the 10th anniversary of JITRI.
We would like to thank JITRI for the support in arranging the tours and hosting the conference at their exhibition centre. We hope to see further growth of both the Professional and Industrial Membership in China over the coming years.
