TWI was honoured to be invited to the 'Majlis Konvokesyen Perdana IPMA 2023' at the World Trade Center Kuala Lumpur (WTC) by Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA). The event was officiated by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Rural & Regional Development, YAB Dato' Sri Dr Ahmad Zahid bin Hamidi.
During the event, Prof. Tat-Hean Gan, Managing Director of TWI Malaysia, presented the award of recognition to the top graduate; Muhd Alimi bin Alias from IKM Besut.
Since 2000, TWI has been collaborating with MARA to provide comprehensive training programs for fresh graduates as well as professional levels. The training courses include visual welding inspector, welding inspector and senior welding inspector. Magnetic Particle Testing, Penetrant Testing, Ultrasonic Testing, Radiographic Interpretation, and Painting Inspector are also part of the NDT training offered to the candidates.
In 2011, MARA together with TWI established the International Welding & Inspection Certification Centre (IWICC) in Jasin and Bintulu.
In the future, TWI will work with MARA on the industry-led program offering to undergraduate students collaborating with the international university.
With our access to world-leading engineering and science industries across multiple sectors, we will be able to develop, an industry-led program based upon the critical needs of the industry, and combine that with the TVET priorities of MARA technical institution.
TWI is committed to continuing its collaboration with MARA and will do all that we can to empower Malaysian citizens to improve their skills and serve the country to the best of their abilities in the years to come.
